Type A Installation Method:
The Motorcycle Hydraulic Lifter does not require any modifications or permanent installation of parts to your bike, your machine remains completely standard.

The lift is mounted on the motorcycle's swingarm pivot and is attached to the rear of the swingarm via a support strap (depending on the lift position).

The horizontal lift position allows you to simply lift the bike by two wheels like a traditional bench lift.

Front wheel raise (wheelie position) raises the front wheel of your bike to eye level, eliminating back pain from front end maintenance and cleaning. This will raise the front end of your bike higher off the ground than most workbenches!

The rear wheel high position (in the stopped position) is perfect for working on the rear end of the bike and allows you to access previously hard to reach areas on the bike. This will raise the rear end of the bike to a higher height than most workbenches!

Use case reference

1. Do I need to modify my bike?
   
   Absolutely not! With the Ali Sky Lift your bike will remain completely standard with no modifications or parts installed, ensuring your bike retains its original look and will not void any manufacturer warranties.
2. What is the maximum weight that the Sky Lift can handle?
   
   The Sky Lift is equipped with a 3 ton hydraulic pump. The lift itself can safely lift a 500 kg motorcycle.
3. Will it scratch or mark any part of my frame/swingarm?
   
   No! Unlike paddock stands and other motorcycle lifts, almost all of our accessory kits are designed to mount over the swingarm pivot bolt head and will not come in contact with any part of the motorcycle swingarm or frame. Typically, all of our accessories mount over the swingarm pivot bolt head or into the bolt hole or hex just like you would a socket/wrench or hex key. No part of the mount has to be permanently attached to the bike, and once your motorcycle is off the lift, you'll never know it was installed!
4. Do I have to wrap the strap around the spool adapter?
   
   Not necessarily. On all conventional double-sided swingarm motorcycles, the support strap can be wrapped around the swingarm itself. This is a slightly slower operation because the strap must be wrapped around the swingarm and through the buckle each time. (The strap does not leave marks on the swingarm) Single-sided swingarm motorcycles require a hub spindle to secure the support strap around.
5. If I use a hub spindle on a single-sided swingarm bike, can I still remove the rear wheel?
   
   The hub spindle fits inside the rear wheel hub so it does not interfere with rear wheel removal. When using the Sky Lift and hub spindle, both wheels can be removed from the bike. The rear hub and sprocket can also be removed by supporting the bike in the "Stoppie" position.
6. Is it safe to leave your bike on the Ali Sky Lift (i.e. for winter storage)?
   
   Of course it is! That's what the lift is designed for, and you can leave your bike on the Sky Lift indefinitely. In fact, if you don't use your bike for a day or a year, the lift will keep your bike safe and upright, preventing unwanted flat spots on the tires and compression of the shock/fork springs.
7. Is the Sky Lift suitable for outdoor use and lifting bikes for general washing and cleaning?
   
   All parts of the Sky Lift are either galvanised or powder coated. There is no problem using the product outdoors or washing bikes on the lift. The hydraulic pump cylinder is a bar steel finish so we recommend wiping it dry after washing the bike. If you plan to leave the bikes on the Sky Lift outdoors for an extended period of time (e.g. winter storage) we recommend removing the hydraulic pump from the lift during this time. Due to the pressure loads created by the roller guides on the main lift shaft, some areas of the shaft will mark/loosen some of the paint. This will not affect the life of the product and is only a cosmetic issue. If you are concerned, a small amount of light oil should be applied to the affected areas.
8. Do I have to store my bike in the highest lift position?
   
   No, the lift has four locking positions (releasing all pressure from the hydraulic pump) that allow you to store your bike at different heights, from a few inches off the ground all the way up to maximum height!
9. Your lift is mounted on the swingarm pivot, how do I remove the swingarm?
   
   We sell an optional  swingarm removal kit  that mounts to the footpeg hanger. This allows you to install the lift and access the swingarm pivot, in this mode you can strip the bike down to a bare frame. When removing the swingarm we recommend lifting the bike into the "Stoppie" position so you can raise the rear of the bike to your desired height.
10. Can the Sky Lift be easily stored when not in use?
    
    Of course! When not in use, the lift takes up very little space. If needed, the Sky Lift can be disassembled in seconds and can even fit in the trunk of a car.
11. Do I need any special tools for assembly?
    
    No. Assembly is very simple and all you need is a pair of adjustable wrenches or a socket/wrench set to tighten the 3 bolt sizes. (The socket/wrench sizes needed are 19mm, 22mm and 24mm)
12. How long does it take to assemble and install?
    
    When you first receive the Sky Lift, there is some very basic assembly required. Assembly takes approximately 15 minutes. Once assembled, the Sky Lift can be attached to the bike in seconds, with both wheels lifted off the ground, and an additional minute to raise the bike to its highest point.
13. How long does it take to raise a bike to full height?
    
    All new Sky Lifts come with our third generation foot-operated hydraulic pump. It takes only seconds to raise the bike so both wheels are off the ground. It takes only about 35 seconds to raise the bike from a stationary point to full height. It takes only 5 seconds to lower the bike to the ground.
14. How much does Sky Lift weigh?
    
    The net weight of Sky Lift is 39 kg.
     
15. Does the Sky Lift come with a warranty?
    
    Of course! As with all Ali products, we offer a 3-year unconditional warranty for your complete peace of mind. As we do not manufacture our own hydraulic pumps, the warranty on this part is the manufacturer's standard 1-year warranty.
16. Is everything I need included?
    
    Except for the bike, yes! You will receive the complete Sky Lift including wheels, foot hydraulic pump, support straps and mounting kit (if required). 
17. I'm concerned about the reliability of the hydraulic pump?
    
    We know that buying anything hydraulic or electrical will have more reliability issues than buying something without hydraulics or electrical. Since the hydraulics on our Sky Lift are capable of lifting 3 tons, and considering that most of the bikes we lift are under 300 kg, the unit is only using 10% of its capacity. In extensive testing we have found the pump to be very reliable. Remember, we only use hydraulics for lifting and lowering. The weight of the bike will not be supported by the hydraulics for long periods of time.
